Hot Rolling (Long – Rebar, Wire Rod, Section)

Developments in the area of hot rolling of long products enable the manufacturing of products with stronger mechanical properties and higher surface quality, as well as utilization of equipment that maximize energy efficiency and minimize maintenance losses (time and spare parts). Communication of such innovations to all levels of employees by the first hand is a significant opportunity for the reinforcement of Turkey’s position in the global platform, increasing its market share and achieving progress. 
The International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition provides a convenient platform to present your relevant studies on the matter. Cold Rolling (Flat)


Topics aimed to be addressed during the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition in the area of cold rolling, the input of which is hot rolled steel, include rolling technologies, effective pickling lines, technologies and systems used with the expectation of zero-defect surfaces referred to as C surfaces, and achievement of thickness/width and section regularity in line with the standards.

REHEATING FURNACES – Refractories, Burners, Heating Systems…

An objective of the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition is to provide examples of advance rolling techniques as well as innovative systems and applications used prior to and after rolling, and thereby providing a basis for analysis of effective working models, and reviewing and discussion of related studies. With the belief that comprehensive application of such techniques, as well as presentation of the same with models and simulations would fill the information gap between the academic and industrial worlds and would be favorable for the development of the technology and industrial innovation, focus will be placed on reheating furnaces and auxiliary equipment, including but not limited to new-generation refractory materials, refractory lining applications, efficiency-increasing heating systems (reduction of energy costs with the right air/fuel ratio, reduction of stack emissions) and equipment (recuperator and burner designs).

 

PIPE MANUFACTURING 

Topics we would like to cover in the symposium particularly include the effects the quality of steel sheet and steel coil -the most important raw materials of steel pipes manufactured in nearly 20 plants in Turkey- on pipe manufacturing, effects of rolling technique on steel qualities and implications of such effects on pipe manufacturing. Your studies on intriguing topics such as new maintenance technologies, innovative approaches, role of artificial intelligence in maintenance and the 5S theory and applications which support all such systems will be included in the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition. In addition, innovative approaches such as factory and field applications on pipe coating (polyethylene, epoxy, concrete, etc.) will also be addressed.

 

BEARINGS 

Emphasis will be made on innovative approaches that would have positive impacts on manufacturing continuity and cost, including new bearing designs not previously tried in the sector, such as mill bearings (especially 4-row cylindrical and tapered roller bearings) that operate under varying and stringent conditions like heavy loads, shock loads, aquatic environment, temperature, etc., as well as other types of bearings.

 

MILLS AND RINGS

Topics such as spheroidal cast iron, cast steel, HSS, Semi-HSS, Adamite, Graphitic Steel, 5% and higher forged and cast back-up rolls, titanium carbide rolls/rings and guide rollers, and field studies conducted on various qualities of such components; newly-developed mill products and their field performances; cost-cutting studies and their applications; roll damages and solutions; and grinding improvement studies will be addressed during the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition.

SURFACE IMAGING AND MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS

Today, with tougher market conditions and ever increasing customer expectations, the measurement of material width, material thickness, crown/wedge and bottom and top surface flaws has become more important than ever in order to deliver problem-free and flawless products to customers. The International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition will include studies on novel technological developments and applications in such systems, as well as accuracy and performance of measurement results, aiming to attract participants’ focus to this significant topic. 

 

LUBRICANTS AND LUBRICATION TECHNOLOGIES 

The symposium will feature studies conducted on any type of mineral oil used in the sector, such as roller bearing, gear and hydraulic oils, and operational tests of the same; new oil technologies; lubrication equipment design and application; studies on oil quality, contamination, measurement and control, innovative lubrication systems and innovative solutions on lubrication system equipment. The International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition aims to present papers on studies regarding specifications and field performance of new-generation energy-saving gear oils.

With Industry 4.0 being the trending topic of recent times, the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition aims to include your papers on the subject, including but not limited to any electric & automation solutions to realize Industry 4.0, how software and applications do and to what extent will change our lives, and impressive application examples particularly with respect to steel rolling practices.

Latest developments on electric motors and driver systems, new designs and interesting performance examples are planned to be included in the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition event agenda.

 

MACHINE MANUFACTURERS – Cranes

Topics such as new-generation cranes, innovative lifting systems, interesting applications regarding energy recovery in lifting technologies, unmanned lifting systems, new inventory addressing and management software and integration of lifting/transportation systems are planned to be included in the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition.

Workshop Equipment (Leveling products, cutting tools...)


The International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition will host a framework for studies regarding NC, CNC and universal machines used in rolling mill workshops, roll/ring/roller grinding wheels and testing results and performances of various qualities of the same, various qualities of cutting inserts used for the leveling of rolls/rings/rollers and interpretation of the performance of the same under different conditions, and cost-cutting studies.


Workshop Equipment (Supporting devices for Operation/Maintenance Units)


The International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition will provide content regarding innovative approaches regarding any workshop support equipment for operation and maintenance units, such as work and back-up roll bearing (supporting) systems, stand/bearing washing equipment, bearing assembly/disassembly apparatuses, industrial robotic arm measurement systems, etc.
 

 

LABORATORY SOLUTIONS 

Studies commentating on the manufacturing and R&D performance of laboratory equipment used in the sector based on their variety and precision, and including innovative approaches regarding improvement of a company’s product reliability by ensuring high precision and verification continuity of such equipment are aimed to be presented in the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition.

 

OHS / ENVIRONMENT

The symposium aims to address topics such as innovative approaches in facilities in line with the target of “Zero Occupational and Process Accidents,” 5S, Kaizen, Informed/Spot Safety Tours, Management Support, Drills, Risk Assessments, Reduction and Management of Wastes, Emission-Reducing Applications, Emission Measurement Technologies, etc.

As is known, rolling mills are classified as very hazardous with respect to employee health and safety (EHS). Engineering measures should be taken as top priority, and simultaneous activities should be performed on employee behavior in order to prevent accidents and occupational diseases in businesses. As such, all businesses place their efforts on making employee health and safety “an essential component of their corporate culture,” placing ever increasing focus on creating a safety culture and allocating more time and resource on relevant solutions. The ISO45001 approach of executing the system by centralizing leadership and employee participation within the organization is very supportive in such context. The International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition assumes the mission to provide an important platform for conveying your studies on such topics. WATER CONDITIONING - TREATMENT


Studies highlighting topics such as interesting global practices on water conditioning; new types of mechanical and sand filters - innovative approaches in filtering systems; matters to be taken into consideration in water conditioning, based on laboratory or on-site measurements, chemicals used in the process, importance of dosing, etc. are aimed to be included in the International Steel Rolling Symposium and Exhibition.
